Do Dogs Hate Clothes?
There is a popular belief out there that "Dogs hate clothes." But is it really true? Well, the question is a little more complicated than true or false. The real answer is that any dog is capable of loving clothes, and any dog is capable of hating clothes. It all just depends on a few factors.
Getting your dog adjusted to wearing their clothes early on is very important.
Whether a dog likes or dislikes clothes has a lot to with his upbringing. Early on, when dogs are just puppies, they will start to learn about the world around them. They will decide what they like and what they don't like. For example, a dog that has had no experience with other dogs will not know how to interact with other pooches a year or two down the line. The same goes for clothes.
If you want your dog to like wearing clothing, it's important to introduce clothes to him at an early stage. This will help him to adjust and learn that clothes are actually a good thing.
Clothes That Fit = A Happy Dog
Make Sure You Get clothes That Fit!
Unfortunately, many dog owners just try to place any piece of clothing on their pup. Even crazier, they expect their dog to like it! This will never happen.
Luckily, there is actually a system put in place that allows owners to find the appropriate size. Many dog clothes take their sizing from a measurement from the collar- between the shoulder blades- to the base of the tail. From there, it's pretty easy. If your measurement is 12 inches, then your dog needs a size 12. If the measurement is 24 inches, then he needs a size 24.
Why Should I Even Get My Dog Some Clothes?
Muttluks is just one of many tools that will help your dog be healthy and happy.
Now, you might be wondering, "Why would I even want my dog to like clothes?" Well, aside from being able to dress him up for Halloween, dog clothes can actually provide a pup with extra safety. For example, one of the most beneficial dog clothing products is Muttluks.
Muttluks are little shoes that slide onto a dog's feet. They help dog's feet from drying out and cracking during winter, and they help feet from being hurt if your dog is running in dangerous areas. In addition to that, Muttluks also help dogs with paws that are already wounded by giving an extra layer of protection during the healing process.
Other dog clothes products that are extremely beneficial include Doggles (help to protect a dog's eyes from dangerous UV lights), dog sweaters (help to keep a dog warm), and dog cooling jackets (help to keep dogs safe in dangerous hot weather). Of course, these are just a selected few products that are available to you and your dog. There are many more available, all of which help to keep your pup healthy and happy.
