We recommend training your dog two weeks before completely using the system. Training will help your dog understand the meaning of the warning beep and the repercussions if he/she continues toward the boundary line. Also this will give your dog time to respect the designated areas. Every dog is different when it comes to training, so be sure to have patience throughout the process. After training it is important to play with your dog about 8-12 feet away from the boundary line so he/she will feel comfortable in the future. If you are wanting the best results while using the PIF-300, than spend time training with your dog prior to fully using it. Training is the key to quicker success! Also, we recommend placing the flags around the perimeter of the boundary line. The flags will create a visual; for both the dog and pet owner. When you are playing and running around with your dog, you will be able to stay within the limits without him/her wanting to follow and getting corrected.
